PROJECT Marimekko Mobile App Design
CLIENT Concept project presented to Marimekko executives
DESCRIPTION
A mobile app designed to elevate the shopping experience and encourage community engagement for a Finnish textile design, fashion and home goods brand.
Initially a university class project, I was able, through networking with a local business partner, to have the app case study presented to Marimekko executives in Finland for their feedback and to gauge their interest in possibly developing the app.
NOTE This is a high-level project overview. Complete case study to come.
Sketching ideas for two possible app features:
ON THE LEFT "Buy from the runway" Watch a runway show, tap an item you like and make a purchase.
ON THE RIGHT "DIY fabric projects" Promote a unique brand offering, Marimekko's fabric by-the-yard, with instructional videos by guest designers and sharing user projects via social media channels.
